We teach our Islamic education in line with the Quran and Sunnah. Our Islamic programme consists of learning; to read the Quran, the Arabic Language and Islamic Studies.
Scholars consider Islam, Eemaan and Ihsaan the three stages in the path towards Allah. The hadith of the prophet Muhammed (PBUH) where Jibril (AS) came to see him to discuss these three elements is very much the underpinning principle behind our Islamic studies curriculum. During your child’s time at OTPS the Islamic Studies curriculum will include: foundations of Islam, the articles of Eemaan, explore what Ihsaan is and what it means to be a Muhsin, stories of the Prophets and the Companions of the Prophet (PBUH), the Names and Attributes of Allah, to name a few. The curriculum aims to equip pupils with a solid foundation in basic religious beliefs and acts of worship, utilising primary sources such as the Quran and Hadiths and a variety of other sources.
Within our Quran lessons we use the Safar Publications curriculum to support our pupil’s development. The aim is for years 1/2 to master Qaida, Years 3/4 to be proficient in Tajweed and Years 5/6 to read the Quran fluently and start memorisation. We appreciate every child’s starting position is different and will work with parents to cater for their needs.
In Arabic, we focus on conversational development by using effective learning resources and creating the right environment. We believe this builds confidence and enjoyment in our little learners.
